7 months in, 52lbs down. Here's what I wish past-me knew:

  1. The nausea is temporary. Weeks 2-4 were ROUGH but it passes.
  2. You will forget to eat. Set reminders.
  3. Protein first or you WILL lose muscle. Non-negotiable.
  4. Constipation is real. Fiber and water are your new best friends.
  5. People will have opinions. Let them.

BIGGEST one: start strength training BEFORE or right when you start. Not 3 months in when you've already lost muscle mass. I learned this the hard way and I'm still rebuilding.

Ok nobody warned me about the sulfur burps on semaglutide. NOBODY. I thought I was dying. I burped at a work meeting and cleared the room. Just... be prepared. Peppermint tea helps.

Meal prep becomes essential not optional. When you can only eat small amounts, every bite needs to count nutritionally. I wasted my first month eating like 800 calories of random stuff because I just wasn't hungry. My doctor was NOT pleased.
