What is The GLP Lounge?

An independent community for evidence-based discussion of GLP-1 receptor agonists and research peptides — trials, dosing, side effects, testing and vendor accountability. We are not affiliated with any manufacturer, pharmacy or vendor.

Is anything here medical advice?

No. Members include clinicians and researchers, but posts are personal opinion and experience. Decisions about medication belong with you and your prescriber. See the full disclaimer.

How do I register?

Click Register in the header, pick a username, and confirm the activation code sent to your email. You must be 18 or older.

Why was my post held for moderation?

All posts in Vendor Reviews and Buyer Beware are manually reviewed, as are first posts from new accounts and anything with external links. This is how we keep shill accounts and fake reviews out.

What are the rules on sourcing?

Vendor discussion is allowed only in the Vendors & Quality forums. No price advertising outside Marketplace, no referral codes, no DM solicitation ("check your inbox" posts get removed). Read the rules before posting.

How does vendor verification work?

Staff-verified vendors have a sustained history of independent third-party testing (Janoshik / PeptideMeter), consistent community feedback, and respond to quality complaints. Verification is revoked on confirmed failures — see Buyer Beware. Verification is never sold.

What's a COA and why does everyone demand one?

A Certificate of Analysis is an independent lab report on a specific batch — identity, purity, and quantity. Unverified product has repeatedly tested underdosed or empty. Full walkthrough: COA Verification Guide.

Which GLP-1 is "best"?

There's no universal answer — efficacy, tolerability, access and price all differ per person. Start with the Trial Data Explorer for what the evidence shows on averages, then read real experiences in the drug-specific forums.

How do I post lab results or trial data correctly?

Redact personal identifiers, state units and reference ranges, and link sources for any claims. Tables beat screenshots. The Lab Results & Biomarkers forum has a pinned formatting guide.

How do I report a post or a scam?

Use the Report button under any post. For confirmed scams or contaminated product, start a thread in Buyer Beware with evidence — order records, photos and test results.

How do I delete my account or data?

Email contact@theglplounge.com from your registered address. See the Privacy Policy for what we store and for how long.

Can I advertise here?

Limited sponsorship slots exist for testing labs and research suppliers — never for unverified vendors. Details on the Advertise page.

Compounded, brand-name, or "research-grade" — what's the difference?

Brand (Ozempic, Mounjaro, Zepbound) is FDA-approved finished product. Compounded comes from 503A/503B pharmacies and shifts with regulation. Research-grade peptide is sold "not for human use" and is only ever as good as the lab test on that specific batch — which is exactly why the community demands a COA. The tradeoffs and current regulatory picture live in Compounding & Formulation.

Do I have to lose muscle on a GLP-1?

Some lean-mass loss accompanies any rapid weight loss, but it is not fixed. In community-cited RCTs, adequate protein (≈1.2–1.6 g/kg) plus resistance training preserves the large majority of lean mass. Evidence and member protocols are in Exercise & Body Composition and Nutrition & Supplementation.

What is "food noise," and is the reduction real?

"Food noise" is the constant intrusive thinking about food that many people report quieting on GLP-1s. It is increasingly studied as a genuine central (brain-level) effect, not just appetite suppression. The neuroscience threads are in Psychological & Behavioral.

How do I store and reconstitute lyophilized peptide?

Keep lyophilized vials cold and dark; once reconstituted with bacteriostatic water, refrigerate and use within the labelled window. Add the water slowly down the vial wall and swirl gently — never shake. The Dosing Calculator handles the mg / mL / insulin-unit math, and technique is covered in Dosing & Protocols.

Is it safe to pay a vendor with crypto?

Crypto is common here for privacy reasons, and many card checkouts are routed through a crypto "on-ramp" behind the scenes. It is a payment method, not a quality signal — it tells you nothing about the product. Vet the vendor first (testing history, community feedback), then talk payment privacy in Crypto & Privacy.

Do you log IPs or sell my data?

We keep only what is needed to run the forum and never sell member data. You can register and post under a pseudonym, and request deletion at any time. Full detail is in the Privacy Policy.

What does the trial evidence actually show for weight loss?

As broad averages from the pivotal trials: semaglutide ≈15% (STEP), tirzepatide ≈20–23% (SURMOUNT), and retatrutide ≈24% at the top dose in Phase 2 (TRIUMPH) — with wide individual variation. Curves, sources and caveats are in the Trial Data Explorer.
