This is exactly right. bri_stats articulated what I have been trying to explain to my friends for months. The GLP-1 for type 1 diabetes aspect is what made the difference for me.

OP here — wow, did not expect this much response! Thank you all for the thoughtful replies on GLP-1 for type 1 diabetes.
To answer SarahChen_PharmD: my doctor and I discussed the options and went with brand.
Quick update: I have noticed more improvement since posting this. Thanks again for the evidence-based discussion — this is exactly why I posted in a science-based community. 🙏
