I do not recognize myself in photos is not that straightforward in my experience

This is exactly right. Dr.KarenChen articulated what I have been trying to explain to my friends for months. The I do not recognize myself aspect is what made the difference for me.

Reading this thread on I do not recognize myself hits close to home. Dad of 2 checking in — I started at 285 lbs and felt like I would tried everything.

11 months on tirz and I am a different person. Not just the 60 lbs lost — my energy, my mood, my relationship with food. All transformed.

If you are on the fence about I do not recognize — take the leap. It was the best health decision I have ever made. ❤️

GenomicsKate — that is really helpful context on I do not recognize myself. Follow-up question: how long did you wait before increasing your dose?

I am in a similar situation (week 4) and trying to set realistic expectations.

To answer RunnerRach's question specifically:

From a clinical standpoint, I do not recognize myself in is a reasonable concern that deserves a thorough answer.

The short answer: the evidence supports this approach for most patients.

The longer answer involves reviewing the specific clinical trial data relevant to your question, which I am happy to elaborate on if helpful.
