I'm going to be really honest. I developed anxiety after losing weight because I was terrified of gaining it back. Like actual panic attacks about "what if the medication stops working." I was so focused on losing that I never thought about the fear of re-gaining. Therapy is helping but yeah. This stuff is LAYERS.

Nadine, same. The anxiety about regain is real and constant. My therapist calls it "arrival fallacy" — we think we'll be happy "when we get there" and then we get there and realize there's no there. The work is ongoing.

I'm reading every single response and I want you all to know this thread has helped me more than I can express. I called my insurance today about therapy coverage. First step taken. Thank you for making it safe to say this stuff out loud. 🙏
